Regulation 25 Duty of the Secretary of State to limit exposure to PM2.5

(1)

The Secretary of State must ensure that all necessary measures not entailing disproportionate costs are taken in relation to England with a view to attaining the national exposure reduction target by 2020.

(2)

The Secretary of State must base assessment of compliance with paragraph (1) on a comparison of the AEI for 2020 with the AEI for 2010.

(3)

The Secretary of State must ensure that all appropriate measures are taken in relation to England with a view to ensuring that the AEI for 2015 does not exceed 20 µg/m³.

(4)

Where it appears necessary and after consultation with the relevant administrations as appropriate, the Secretary of State must take measures in relation to the United Kingdom to—

(a)

attain the national exposure reduction target;

(b)

ensure that the AEI for 2015 does not exceed 20 µg/m³.
