(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the Airports (Groundhandling) Regulations 1997.

(2)

This regulation and regulations 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21 and 26 shall come into force on 27th October 1997.

(3)

Regulation 8(b) shall come into force on 1st January 1998.

(4)

Regulations 8(a), 17, 18, 22, 23, 24 and 25 shall come into force—

(a)

in relation to category A airports, on 1st January 1999; and

(b)

in relation to category B airports, on 1st January 2001.

(5)

Regulations 15, 16 and 19 shall come into force—

(a)

in so far as they relate to self-handling, on 1st January 1998; and

(b)

in so far as they relate to suppliers of groundhandling services—

(i)

in relation to category A airports, on 1st January 1999; and

(ii)

in relation to category B airports on 1st January 2001.
