Article 2 Interpretation

any reference to a local authority area in England and Wales shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 21 June 2003;

any reference to a local government area in Scotland shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 21 June 2003; and

any reference to a parish or a former district council in Scotland shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 31 December 1993.

any reference to a ward shall be a reference to the Census Area Statistic ward relating to the 2001 Census; and

any reference to a local authority area shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 21 June 2003.
