These Regulations revoke the Bananas (Interim Measures) Regulations 1992, which provided for controls on commercial banana ripening operations. These controls are no longer necessary, following the entry into force of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 404/93 on the common organisation of the market in bananas (OJ No. L 47, 25.2.93, p.1) which applies from 1st July 1993.
