Article 2 Amendment of the Channel Tunnel (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1994

The Channel Tunnel (Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 1994^f1 is amended as follows.

In article 3 (application of tripartite articles)^f2 at the beginning of paragraphs (2) and (3) insert “Subject to paragraph (4),” and after paragraph (3) insert—

“(4)

Nothing in this article implies the existence of a control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory.”.

In article 4 (application of enactments) after paragraph (1) insert—

“(1A)

The Race Relations Act 1976^f3 shall apply to the carrying out by immigration officers of their functions in a control zone outside the United Kingdom as it applies to the carrying out of their functions within the United Kingdom.”

Article 7 (enactments modified)^f4 becomes paragraph (1) of article 7 and at the end insert—

“(2)

Nothing in paragraph (1)(b) implies the existence of a control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory.”.

In Schedule 1 (expressions defined)^f5 at the end of the definition of “control zone” insert “but excluding the station of London-Waterloo on British territory”.
