Article 3 Changes to district registries and county courts

(1)

The district registry of the High Court at Workington shall be closed and the holding of the Workington County Court shall be discontinued.

(2)

There shall be a district registry of the High Court at Whitehaven.

(3)

Whitehaven County Court shall have jurisdiction for the purposes of Parts VIII to XI of the Insolvency Act 1986, and its insolvency district shall be coterminous with its district for the purposes of section 2(3) of the County Courts Act 1984.

(4)

In Schedule 1—

(a)

the entry relating to Workington shall be deleted; and

(b)

the following entry shall be inserted in its appropriate alphabetical position—

“

Whitehaven Whitehaven

”.

(5)

In Schedule 3—

(a)

in the entry relating to Whitehaven—

(i)

in column 1, after “Whitehaven” there shall be inserted “(D.R.) ”; and

(ii)

in column 2, before “Divorce” there shall be inserted “Bankruptcy ”; and

(b)

the entry relating to Workington shall be deleted.
