We, the Crown Court Rule Committee, in exercise of the powers conferred upon us by sections 84(1) and 86 of the Supreme Court Act 1981^f1, section 81 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984^f2 and sections 43(3) and 65(1) of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999^f3, hereby make the following Rules:
