Section 85 (disclosure of information by Revenue and Customs) is amended as follows.

In subsection (8)(a), for “the Data Protection Act 1998 (c. 29)” substitute “ the data protection legislation ”.

In subsection (9), at the appropriate place insert—

““the data protection legislation” has the same meaning as in the Data Protection Act 2018 (see section 3 of that Act).”
