The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 67(2) of, and paragraph 7 of Schedule 6 to, the Data Protection Act 1998^f1 as applied by regulation 32(8)(a) and (c) of the Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999^f2, hereby makes the following Rules:–
