Section 318 Expiry of this ChapterI1I2

This Chapter, apart from subsection (5) of this section and section 317, expires at the end of the relevant period.

The “relevant period” means the period of five years beginning with the day on which this Act is passed.

The Secretary of State may by regulations amend this section to change the definition of the “relevant period”.

Regulations under subsection (3) are subject to the affirmative procedure.

The expiry of this Chapter does not affect its continued operation in relation to any information notice given under section 311 before its expiry.
