Article 18 Penalty for applying for or obtaining a licence or registration while disqualified

Northern Ireland

(1)

Any person who applies for or obtains—

(a)

a dog licence or a block licence while disqualified for obtaining or holding such a licence by Article 4(2) or by virtue of Article 8(5); or

(b)

registration in respect of guard dog kennels F1... while disqualified for keeping a dog underF2 Article 33A orF3section 33 of the Welfare of Animals Act (Northern Ireland) 2011;

shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £200 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 1 month or to both.

(2)

A person under the age of 16 shall not be guilty of an offence under paragraph (1)(a) where he obtains a dog licence on behalf of the head of the household of which he is a member.
