In subsection (1)(a)—

(a)

in subparagraph (i) after “metropolitan counties” there is inserted “except Greater Manchester”;

(b)

the word “and” after subparagraph (i) is omitted; and

(c)

after subparagraph (i) there is inserted—

“(ia)

the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester shall be the area of a combined authority; and”
