Paragraph 4
A person who meets the criteria set out in paragraph 2(a) must have gained maritime experience of at least 5 years including a period—
(a)
as a deck or engine officer with at least two years experience in that role working at sea,
(b)
as an inspector meeting the requirements of paragraph 3(a), or
(c)
as an assistant to a port state control inspector carrying out inspections.
