Paragraph 1 Amendment of Part 1 of the 1949 Act (restrictions on marriage)

(1)

Section 3 of the 1949 Act (marriages of persons under eighteen)^f1 is amended as follows.

(2)

In subsection (1), for “certificates issued by a superintendent registrar under Part III of this Act” substitute “a marriage schedule”.

(3)

In subsection (2)—

(a)

for “references” (in the first place it appears) substitute “a reference”;

(b)

for “references” (in the second place it appears) substitute “the reference”.
