The F1Secretary of State for Education and Science may cause a local inquiry to be held for the purpose of the exercise of any of his functions under this Act; and the provisions of subsections (2) (3) (4) and (5) of section F2two hundred and fifty of the M1Local Government Act 1972 shall have effect with respect to any such inquiry . . .
