Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Education (Grant) Regulations 1983 by including Cranfield Information Technology Institute as an establishment eligible for grant under those Regulations (regulations 2 and 3).

The Institute is added to those establishments listed in Schedule 4 to the 1983 Regulations to which the conditions as to the payment of grant prescribed in regulation 16 and the provisions for inspection in regulation 24 do not apply (regulation 4). Under regulation 16(6) of the 1983 Regulations the payment of grant to establishments mentioned in Schedule 4 is conditional on such requirements as may be specified by the Secretary of State being satisfied (regulation 4).
