Section 9A (registration officers: duty to take necessary steps) is amended as follows.

At the end of subsection (1) insert “ and for the purpose of securing that, so far as is reasonably practicable, persons who are entitled to be registered in a register (and no others) are registered in it ”.
(3)
In subsection (2)(a), for “section 10” substitute “ section 9D ”.
