Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

As a result, Commission Regulation (EU) No 2016/631 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of generators, Commission Regulation (EU) No 2016/1388 establishing a network code on demand connection and Commission Regulation (EU) No 2016/1447 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of high voltage direct current systems and direct current-connected power park modules will form part of the domestic law of the United Kingdom on and after exit day by virtue of section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.
