Regulation 19 Power to make provision in relation to metadata for spatial data sets and servicesI1

The appropriate authority may, by regulations, make provision for or in connection with the creation and maintenance of metadata for spatial data sets and spatial data services corresponding to the themes listed in Annexes 1, 2 and 3 to the Metadata Implementing Regulation M1.

Regulations under paragraph (1) may, in particular, amend the Metadata Implementing Regulation.

In exercising the power under paragraph (1), the appropriate authority must have regard to relevant existing international standards and user requirements, in particular those in relation to validation metadata.
