Paragraph 9 Emission limit value exemptions: desulphurisation for combustion plants firing indigenous solid fuelF1
SEPA may apply the minimum rates of desulphurisation set out in Chapter 5 of Part 3 of this schedule where the circumstances in sub-paragraph (2) or (3) apply.
This sub-paragraph applies to a large combustion plant that fires indigenous solid fuel, where—
due to the characteristics of that fuel, the plant cannot comply with the emission limit value for sulphur dioxide required by paragraphs 6(1) and (2) of this schedule,
the authorised person has submitted a technical report to SEPA,
SEPA has validated the technical report, and
the minimum rates of desulphurisation are applied as a monthly average limit value.
This sub-paragraph applies to a large combustion plant that fires indigenous solid fuel which co-incinerates waste, where—
due to the characteristics of that fuel, the plant cannot comply with the Cproc values for sulphur dioxide set out in paragraphs 21(4) and (5) of schedule 22, and
the minimum rates of desulphurisation are applied as a monthly average limit value.
Where the minimum rate of desulphurisation is applied in the circumstances described in sub-paragraph (2), Cwaste as referred to in paragraph 19 of schedule 22 is equal to 0 mg/Nm3.
