of 8 June 2020

extending the mandate of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine)

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union and in particular Articles 42(4) and 43(2) thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Whereas:

(1)

On 22 July 2014, the Council adopted Decision 2014/486/CFSPf1 on the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).

(2)

On 13 May 2019, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/761f2 extending the mandate of the Mission until 31 May 2021.

(3)

On 4 June 2019, the Political and Security Committee adopted Decision (CFSP) 2019/992f3 appointing Mr Antti HARTIKAINEN as Head of Mission for the period from 1 July 2019 until 30 June 2020.

On 14 May 2020, the Political and Security Committee agreed that Mr Antti HARTIKAINEN should continue to perform this function until 31 May 2021,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

The mandate of Mr Antti HARTIKAINEN as Head of Mission of EUAM Ukraine is hereby extended until 31 May 2021.

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.

It shall apply from 1 July 2020.
