However, for the duration of this Protocol, the percentage of fishermen and seamen actually taken on board may not be lower than 25 %. In this case, shipowners are required to pay compensation to the Mauritanian authorities of 200 ECU /month for each seaman of the number constituting the difference between the 35 % quota and the number of seamen actually employed on board; such compensation shall be used for the training of Mauritanian fishermen.
