Article 1

Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 is amended as follows:

1. (1)

   In Article 230, the following point (e) is added:

   1. (e)

      ‘portable musical instruments imported by travellers and entitled to relief as returned goods.’

2. (2)

   In Article 231, the following point (e) is added:

   1. (e)

      ‘portable musical instruments of travellers.’

3. (3)

   In Article 232, paragraph 1, the following point (d) is added:

   1. (d)

      ‘portable musical instruments referred to in Article 569(1a).’.

4. (4)

   In Article 569, the following paragraph 1a is inserted:

   ‘1a.

   Total relief from import duties shall be granted for portable musical instruments temporarily imported by a traveller as defined in Article 236(A) with the intention of using them as professional equipment.’.
