Performance on differing adhesion surfaces

1.

Tractors

F11.1.

The prescribed braking rate referred to in point 5.3.5 of this Annex may be calculated by reference to the measured coefficient of adhesion of the two surfaces on which this test is carried out.

The two surfaces shall satisfy the conditions set out in point 5.3.4. of this Annex.

1.2.

The coefficient of adhesion (kH and kL) of the high- and low-adhesion surfaces, respectively, shall be determined in accordance with the provisions in point 1.1 of Appendix 2.

1.3.

The braking rate (zMALS) for laden tractors shall be:

z MALS ≥ 0,75 4 k L + k H 5 and z MALS ≥ k L

2.

Towed vehicles

2.1.

The braking rate referred to in point 6.3.2 of this Annex may be calculated by reference to the measured braking rates zRALH and zRALL on the two surfaces on which the tests are carried out with the anti-lock braking system operative. These two surfaces shall satisfy the conditions prescribed in point 6.3.2 of this Annex.

2.2.

The braking rate zRALS shall be:

z RALS ≥ 0,75 ε H × 4 z RALL + z RALH 5 and

z RALS > z RALL ε H

If εΗ > 0,95 use εΗ = 0,95.
