Rule 16.2 When the court may make a child a party to proceedings
(1)
The court may make a child a party to proceedings if it considers it is in the best interests of the child to do so.
(2)
This rule does not apply to a child who is the subject of proceedings—
(a)
which are specified proceedings; or
(b)
to which Part 14 applies.
(The Practice Direction 16A sets out the matters which the court will take into consideration before making a child a party under this rule.)
