In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 26 of the Fire Services Act 1947^f1, the Secretary of State, with the approval of the Treasury^f2 and after consultation with the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council and the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, hereby makes the following Order:
