The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 26 of the Fire Services Act 1947^f1 and section 12, as applied by section 16(3), of the Superannuation Act 1972^f2, with the approval of the Treasury^f3 and after consultation with the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council and the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, hereby makes the following Order:
