Article 18 Compulsory acquisition of landI1

England and Wales

(1)

The undertaker may—

(a)

acquire compulsorily so much of the Order land as is required for the authorised development or to facilitate, or as is incidental, to it; and

(b)

use any land so acquired for the purpose authorised by this Order or for any other purposes in connection with or ancillary to the undertaking.

(2)

This article is subject to article 19 (time limit for exercise of authority to acquire land compulsorily), paragraph ‎(2) of article ‎20 (compulsory acquisition of rights), article 23 (acquisition of subsoil only), article 26 (rights under or over streets) and article ‎27 (temporary use of land for constructing the authorised development).
