Regulation 3 Amendments to regulation 3 (interpretation)
Regulation 3 shall be amended as follows.
In paragraph (1)—
the definition of “area engineer” shall be omitted;
for the definition of “the prescribed construction and use requirements” there shall be substituted the following definition—
““the prescribed construction and use requirements”, in relation to a vehicle, means those of the requirements specified in Part I of Schedule 3 which apply to the vehicle and the requirements of Part II of that Schedule;”.
After paragraph (4), there shall be inserted the following paragraph—
“(4A)Without prejudice to section 17 of the Interpretation Act 1978f1 and subject to the context, a reference in these Regulations to any enactment comprised in subordinate legislation (within the meaning of that Act) is a reference to that enactment as from time to time amended or as from time to time re-enacted with or without modification.”
