Article 9 Renunciation of free allocation in 2026 allocation periodI1

(1)
The operator of the following installations may renounce free allocation in the 2026 allocation period by giving notice (a “renunciation notice”) to the regulator—
(a)
an FA installation for the 2021-2025 allocation period;
(b)
an installation other than an FA installation for the 2021-2025 allocation period whose operator completes the first stage of an Article 4 application.
(2)
A renunciation notice must be given on or before 30th June 2025.
(3)
The regulator must notify the UK ETS authority of each renunciation notice given.
