Section XII In Actions for executing this Act, General Issue may be pleaded.

Double Costs.

And be it further enacted That if any person or persons shall att any time be sued or prosecuted for any thing by him or them done or executed in pursuance of this Act he or they shall or may plead the Generall Issue and give this Act in evidence for his defence and if upon a tryall a verdict shall passe for the Defendant or Defendants or judgment shall be given against the Plaintiffe or Plaintiffs upon Demurrer or the Plaintiffe or Plaintiffs be nonsuit discontinue or forbeare prosecuteing theire said Acc[i]ons then such Defendant and Defendants shall have double costs to him or them awarded against such Plaintiffe or Plaintiffes for which costs he shall have such remedy as in other cases where costs are by Lawe given to Defendants:-
