Article 16 Compulsory acquisition of landI1

The undertaker may acquire compulsorily so much of the Order land as is required for the authorised development or to facilitate it, or as is incidental to it.

This article is subject to article 20 (Compulsory acquisition of rights etc.), article 23 (Acquisition of subsoil only) and article 26 (Temporary use of land for carrying out the authorised development).

Nothing in this article authorises the acquisition of rights or other interests in land owned by the Crown.
