Explanatory note

This Order brings the following provisions of the Housing Act 2004 into force in England on 17th February 2005—

  • section 220 (which extends the powers of the Housing Corporation to give grants to persons other than registered social landlords);

  • section 221 (which is related to section 220 and which extends the right to acquire in relation to a dwelling provided by means of a grant to a person other than a registered social landlord);

  • section 227 (which removes the duty on local housing authorities to send annual reports to tenants).
