Article 2 General interpretation

(1)

The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954F1 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

In this Order—

“the Department” means the Department of the Environment;
“the Executive” means the Northern Ireland Housing Executive;
“the Order of 1981” means the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1981;
“the Order of 1983” means the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1983;
“the Order of 1986” means the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1986;
“the Order of 1988” means the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1988; and
“prescribe” means prescribe by regulations made by the Department.

Expressions used in this Order and defined in the Order of 1981 or the Order of 1983 shall, unless the context otherwise requires, have the meanings given in the Order of 1981 or the Order of 1983, as the case may be.
