In these Rules—

  • “the 1971 Rules” means the Indictments (Procedure) Rules 1971f1;

  • “the 1980 Act” means the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980f2;

  • “the 1996 Act” means the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996f3.
