Regulation 2 Interpretation

In these Regulations —

• “the 1993 Act” means the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993^f1;

• “the appropriate Minister” has the meaning given by—

  1. (a)

     section 30(1) of the 1993 Act; or

  2. (b)

     section 32A(6) of the Judicial Pensions Act 1981^f2;

  and —

  1. (i)

     in the case of an appeal under section 9A of the Sheriffs' Pensions (Scotland) Act 1961^f3, means the Secretary of State;

  2. (ii)

     in the case of an appeal under the enactments mentioned in paragraphs (d), (e), (f), (g) (h) and (i) of regulation 3, means the Treasury;
