Explanatory note

This Order brings into force on 4th April 2003 the following provisions of the Land Registration Act 2002 (“the Act”)—

  • section 128, which contains supplementary provisions relating to the making of secondary legislation under the Act;

  • section 129, which provides that the Act binds the Crown;

  • section 130, which relates to the Act’s application to internal waters;

  • sections 131 and 132, which relate to the interpretation of the Act;

  • section 134(1), which confers power to make transitional provisions; and

  • section 136, which contains the Act’s short title, commencement and extent provisions.
