Rule 1 Title, coming into force and transitional provision

The title of these Rules is the Local Elections (Wales) (Amendment) Rules 2026.

(2)

These Rules come into force on 13 March 2026.

(3)

Despite the coming into force of these Rules under paragraph (2), they do not have effect in relation to—

(a)

the conduct of an election of councillors to a county or county borough council if, in the event of an election being contested, the poll would take place before 6 May 2027;

(b)

the conduct of an election of councillors to a community council if, in the event of the election being contested, the poll would take place before 6 May 2027.
