Explanatory note

This Order varies the Medicines Trading Fund Order 1993 by extending the operations for which the Medicines Control Agency Trading Fund is established to include those relating to good laboratory practice. These operations are carried out in connection with measurs relating to the control of laboratories carrying out tests on chemical products as provided for in Council Directive 87/18/EEC of 18th December 1986 and Council Directive 88/320/EEC of 9th June 1988 and as arising out of the United Kingdom’s Membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
