Article 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

These Rules may be cited as the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Amendment) Rules 1996 and shall come into force on 1st April 1996.

In these Rules, “the principal Rules” means the Mental Health Review Tribunal Rules 1983^f1.

In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires, a reference to a numbered rule or Schedule is a reference to the rule or Schedule bearing that number in the principal Rules.
