Section 2 By-Laws amended

For by-law 26(1) of the By-Laws relating to Motor Hackney Carriages standing or plying for hire made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951^f1 there shall be substituted –

(1)

The fares payable for the hire of a Motor Hackney Carriage within the prescribed limits shall be –

(a)

where not more than 4 passengers are carried –

3.	Rate 3	Any Day 24.00-06.00	For the first 0.5 mile (804.6 metres) or part thereof, or 3 minutes 32 seconds (212 seconds) or part thereof.	Minimum £2·60 Maximum £2·60
			For every subsequent 135.3 yards (123.72 metres) or part thereof, or 32.7 seconds or part thereof.	Minimum £0·10 Maximum £0·10
4.	Rate 4	20.00 Christmas Eve – 06.00 27 Dec	For the first 1.5 miles (2414 metres) or part thereof, or 10 minutes and 18.75 seconds (618.75 seconds) or part thereof.	Minimum £5·20 Maximum £5·20

(b)

for each minute or part of a minute during which the taxi is kept waiting by the hirer for the rates described in the Table in sub-paragraph (a) –

(c)

additional fare –

In assessing additional fares every child under the age of 6 years and/or one child over 6 years and under 12 years shall be disregarded. Two children between the ages of 6 years and 12 years shall be counted as one passenger.”.
