Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations increase the fees payable under the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes Regulations 1984.

The fee to accompany an application for registration is increased from £600 to £678, and the fee to accompany such an application on a proposed change of ownership, where there are no other changes in relation to the home, is increased from £380 to £410 (regulation 2).

The Regulations also revoke the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1986 and regulation 2 of the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1988, which replaced the fees prescribed which are in turn replaced by the fees prescribed by these Regulations (regulation 3).
