Article 25 Amendment of the Housing Benefit Regulations 2006I1

(1)

The Housing Benefit Regulations 2006^f1 are amended as follows.

In Schedule 5 (sums to be disregarded in the calculation of income other than earnings)^f2, after paragraph 66 insert—

“67.
Any bereavement support payment under section 30 of the Pensions Act 2014 (bereavement support payment) except any such payment which is disregarded as capital under paragraph 9(1)(h) or 62 of Schedule 6.”.

In Schedule 6 (capital to be disregarded)^f3—

(a)

in paragraph 9(1), after paragraph (g) insert—

“(h)
bereavement support payment under section 30 of the Pensions Act 2014,”; and

(b)

after paragraph 61, insert—

“62.
Any bereavement support payment in respect of the rate set out in regulation 3(2) or (5) of the Bereavement Support Payment Regulations 2017 (rate of bereavement support payment), but only for a period of 52 weeks from the date of receipt of the payment.”.
