An emergency shut-down valve shall also be capable of being closed—

(a)

by a person positioned by it; and

(b)

automatically by the operation of the emergency shut-down system of the offshore installation to which the pipeline is connected,

or, while relevant work of examination or maintenance is being carried out, by one of those means.
