In section 9(2), the definition of “bank” was substituted by section 51(1) of, and paragraphs 3 and 15 of Schedule 6 to, the Banking Act 1979 (c. 37.) and amended by section 108(1) of, and paragraph 3 of Schedule 6 to, the Banking Act 1987 (c. 22.) and sections 4(3), 7(3) of, and Schedule 4 to, the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1985 (c. 58.) Subsection (2) was also modified by regulation 82(1) of, and paragraph 4 of Schedule 10 to, the Banking Coordination (Second Council Directive) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/3218).
