Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Postal Services (Jersey) Order 1969, and revokes the Postal Services (Channel Islands Consequential Provisions) Order 1969 and the Postal Services (Isle of Man Consequential Provisions) Order 1973 in so far as they extend to Jersey.

Those Orders amended certain provisions of the Post Office Act 1953 (c. 36) and the Post Office Act 1969 (c. 48) in their application to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in respect of the administration of postal services. These revocations are necessary following the enactment of the Postal Services (Jersey) Law 2004, which makes provision for the administration of postal services in Jersey.
