Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Rules)

These Rules amend the Prison Rules 1964 to remove the right of an unconvicted prisoner to be supplied with food at his own expense or that of his friends. They revoke the Prison (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1987, which they reproduce, save that rule 2(d), which was included in the 1987 Rules in error, has been omitted.
