United Kingdom
The functions of the Environment Agency, F1the Natural Resources Body for Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Department of the Environment are to—
(a)
prevent, minimise, remedy or mitigate the effects of pollution of the environment;
(b)
ensure the safety of the environment.
