In regulation 12 (probationary service in the rank of constable)—

(a)

in paragraph (1) the words after “constable” shall be omitted;

(b)

in paragraph (2) there shall be substituted for the words after “this regulation applies” the words “may be required to serve on probation for such period, not exceeding 2 years and 6 months, as the chief constable determines in the circumstances of a particular case.”; and

(c)

paragraphs (3) and (4)(c) shall be omitted.
