Rule 25 Notification of illness or death

If a trainee dies or becomes seriously ill, sustains any serious injury or is removed to hospital on account of mental disorder, the governor shall at once inform the trainee’s parent or guardian, and also any person who the trainee may reasonably have asked should be informed.

If a trainee dies, the governor shall give notice immediately to the coroner having jurisdiction, to the Secretary of State and to the person authorised under rule 43(1) to inspect the centre.
